Last week we flew to California for Uncle Pat Pat's wedding. We have been waiting for this trip for a long time! On Wednesday we drove to Sioux Falls and played peek-a-boo with Katherine for the duration of the first night!
Early Thursday morning we boarded the plane for Denver. The flight was okay. The kids were all well behaved except a few cries from Katherine during take off. Poor Sabrina got motion sick on the first flight and then ended up throwing up the entire way to our seats on the second plane. She was such a trooper. Scared a few passengers on they way but didn't get anyone dirty...sometimes that is all you can ask for!
We were greeted pretty quickly at the hotel by Patrick and Chelsea! That was a wonderful Surprise! They were soon followed by Grandpa and Grandma Francom, The Greenland Family, and the rest of the Francom Clan. They were all soon to be known by Jacob as "My Hotel Friends" He loved them dearly :) It was a fun evening of wrestling, pizza and family time. Our Camera didn't surface until the next day.
Katherine woke us early...like 4:30 am...but we stayed in bed until 5:30. At 7:00 we had already had breakfast, done laundry, and were dressed and ready for the day...so we decided to take the 20 minute drive to the beach! The contrast in temp. from South Dakota to California was such that we enjoyed the water...but the beach was completely empty.
We haven't been to the beach for 2 years. It was so wonderful to be reunited!
Gotta Love the baby beach legs!
Katherine was very nervous about the water.
Greg and the kids chased each other in the waves :)
Jacob was pretty funny. He fell into the water and his pants were too heavy to stay up on his little legs...so he visited the beach like this!
He also experienced some weird hair growth.
Here are a few more beach shots. After we left the beach we took Jake to his favorite place to eat! Chick-Fil-A! The entire family joined us for the experience!
Katherine was pulling some really odd faces...
After lunch the kids went with their aunties and uncles to a trampoline land.
Friday evening was the rehearsal dinner. I have a huge lack of pictures from this night. But it was fun. Great food. Great Family! Here is a pic. of the lovely couple and Aunt Angie.
