16 Hours & Counting

Visiting with the Grandparents is a destination worth a long drive and we had a blast making it this year. We departed from home at 3:00 AM and arrived at 7 or 8 PM. I am proud to say I killed a BIG pheasant with the car...better than a deer that is for sure! The plan was for me to drive until the sun came up and for everyone else to sleep. That wasn't 3 exactly how it went. Everyone slept but Jacob. That boy didn't take his first nap until 5:00 PM! Here he is totally zonked out.

He was so excited for the drive, loved the stars and commented on every light he saw while we traveled through the prairies of South Dakota.  Greg had a difficult time getting comfortable...and after a few hours he finally arrived at this beautiful sleeping position.

The girls made tents to hide their sleeping behaviors.

And sweet baby cakes...she was AMAZING. She just stayed happily in her seat. When the grumpies hit her all she needed was momma to move to the back seat and visit with her.

The kids entertained themselves with two movies, listening to the series of unfortunate events on cd and playing with there new toys the remainder of the time. No complaints, no fighting and no crying.  I wish we could say there was no car sickness...but alas...the black hills got the better of Clara's stomach and I left a bag full of vomit on some poor families drive way...other than that these kids make great traveling companions!
