Freezing Rain

Christmas was an adventure. We experienced the first major ice storm since we moved from Georgia. It was interesting. Luckily Aberdeen didn't get hit very hard. We had tons of rain that froze but it hit the ground first. Other neighboring cities still don't have power 5 days later. After two bags of icemelt I realized it was hopeless to make the sidewalks safe and clear our sidewalk of ice right now...I did send Greg to the store to get more icemelt but go figure...they Aberdeen had sold out...I wonder if this ice will just stay around until May...We left Aberdeen to go visit our friends in Eureka and got some cool pictures of the storm.

 This is the driveway!

Can you see the thick layer of ice on the roof? Totally crazy!
We have also had tons of fun outdoors. It is warmer...I think the high is 20 degrees so we can really enjoy the snow!  The men road the four wheelers around to break through the ice and make a path of soft (er) snow to pull the kids around in sleds. It was so fun. I even went a few laps around the track...although it is bit scary...if you go flying off you hit hard on the icy snow and that stings a little. I love this picture of Jacob sliding off the sled! LOL! HE looks hilarious.

We have also had a blast with Daddy in our new favorite Green bedroom! The new game is True Love's Squish.

Clara kept trying to dodge the camera so I made sure to give her a nice big hug for a photo...sh! Don't tell her but if you look in the mirror you will see she is in the photos anyway!
