Flying to Utah

My Grandmother passed away. I'll miss Grandma Greenland very much. Grandpa passed away a few years ago and because of distance and money I wasn't able to attend his funeral. They both meant a lot to me as role models and teachers. I am so thankful that our family was able to be there in Utah if only for a short while for the funeral. I learned a lot about grandma at the funeral, she was a great woman. I didn't know that she was so musically inclined (singing and violin) and that earlier in life, she liked to have parties. We almost always watched sunday afternoon general conference at the Greenlands. One thing I remember about grandma is actually a kind of contradiction. She was often stern and serious but never lost her sense of humor. Even in some serious moments, she teased and got teased, and it was usually possible to make her smile. Grandma always seemed to keep the important aspects of the gospel of Jesus Christ close to her heart.

Appropriately, after the funeral, we had a sending away party, with games (chair ball, volleyball and basketball) and banana pudding, which I was surprised to learn Grandma and Grandpa picked up in the southern states mission where they both served a mission and where they met. If you haven't had banana pudding you should try it!

Because of the funeral we got to take all of the kids on the airplane. The kids were so excited to board the plane! In Aberdeen the airport is only one terminal so you get to watch the plane land and see all the preparations for your flight at ground level.

Jacob was hilarious on the planes, especially when he got to sit by the window and see what was going on outside. A lady sat in front of us and laughed everytime he said something. He kept yelling out things like "This is awesome!""see, I told you guys this would be cool!""We're in the clouds now, soon we'll have to go down!" The pilot even let the kids into the cockpit to look around.
